My swan made it through surgery, he had to have two pins and a little brace to keep his bones and joint in place. The brace will come off in about two weeks, and he is being pumped full of anti-biotics for the next week. He is staying at the rehabers home for the next 7 days, then i will take him and she will help me set up an enclosure outside where the female will be able to come and see him. He will have to make two more visits to the vet who recommends that he stay out of the water for at least 3 more weeks and until the brace comes off his leg. If he doesn't get an infection he should make it. Let me know if you think this is the way to go in terms of a successful outcome. Its not possible to put the two swans together at this moment.
Thanks for your help in this matter.
regards,
Barry
