Hi Nelly

We are glad this situation worked out so well for the swan and you. Although we can't be absolutely sure, but the swan looks like a young bird, possibly a female. The swan is definitely a Polish Mute vs a Royal Mute, meaning a lighter color variation.

Again, we can't be sure, but the swan's posture/stance seems somewhat awkward. Have the vet check for an injury or damage to the bottom of the feet such as bumblefoot, or possible soft tissue (tendon\muscle) in the legs. It appears from the photo (again may just be the angle the photo was taken) that the swan is off balance like tipping forward which would be similar to someone walking tip-toed. If so, this might indicate some type of weight bearing problem possibly resulting from an injury, birth defect or neurological issue. Please let us know what the vet exam indicates. If there is a problem causing an issue with weight bearing or gait, the swan will do just fine living alone in its present site with ducks and geese. The Regal Swan
