Hi Nelly

The first thing to do is capture the swan and get her to a no kill shelter so she can be examined. This might actually be a young swan that was beaten and chased from its habitat or a swan that may have run into a building or car. In any case, it needs TLC to let it recover. If there is a weakened condition, your pond may not be safe against predation.

How far are you from Chicago? We might be able to find it a home with Bob Knox but we need to know its condition and your location. Otherwise, once it is seen by a vet, you might see if there is a farm with ducks and a pond safe from predators that might give it a home. Pllase let us know how this situation progresses. Thank you for caring. The Regal Swan
