Hi Patty. It is a good sign that he is able to move the leg. However, it would even be better if he was able to put weight down and walk. We would still suggest capture if possible and transport to vet for diagnosis and possible treatment. At least we could get an evaluation to see what needs to be done for him for the long run. So sorry to hear about the other cygnet. There must be a predator in the area which is why the injured cygnet got hurt. More importantly, this would deem his rescue even more important because he is not going to be able to run, swim and escape. The Regal Swan
