Hi Dan:
Yes, the swans being wild brings a whole new issue to the problem. If you begin feeding the swans, just like other animals and birds, you will not only have these two, but some of their buddies feeding and staying in your area as well. The best solution would be the temporary fencing. Just ensure that it is about 4 feet in height so that they cannot try to climb and get hurt. Also, the fencing itself must have a small mesh/web so that the swans cannot stick their heads in or under the fence and become entangled. Good luck. The Regal Swan
