Photo of the pond. Styrofoam as nesting island? Shade on the nesting island? Shelter in winter? Protection against coyotes?

This is our pond. I heard from the person I received the Swans from that they like to be in the middle of the pond for nesting. I am scared that they will be bothered by Coyotes. I want them to be able to get away if they need to. That is why I was asking.

We were thinking if we could use Styrofoam somehow.

And I would think they would need some kind of shade also on this floating getaway.

Also, in the winter time, what do they need to get out of the rain? Do I need to have shelter for them or does that not matter to them?

Our property is fenced, but we have seen coyotes in the back yard. They got a hold of the baby ducks. That's why I am concerned. When they get close to the berry bushes, I am afraid something will come out to get them.
