The best case scenario for the swans is for the people to just respect them and leave them alone. They feel threatened and are doing what they are supposed to do, protect their young. Why not hold a meeting and educate the people who live there about the swans? They should see them as an asset to their environment. Little children will stay away if told they can get hurt, or simply say it makes the daddy angry. It is very wrong to displace these swans from their home just because the adults are not educated and will not do what they need to, which is to look but don't touch and stay 20 ft away or whatever. As for the woman who got attacked, there were warning signs she ignored from the swan, there always is, and it was her responsibility to pay heed to that. The swan simply may not have liked her, not all humans give off a good vibe that animals respond too. They are very intelligent and do have an excellent memory. They will remember you for years if you are nice to them and likewise if you are not. They like humans, decide for themselves whom they like and feel they can trust. If one of your neighbors had a fight with you, would you expect or ask them to move far away? Would you go into their home in the middle of the night and take them far away, and leave their young behind? It is your duty to find a way to make this work out. Nature was there first not your fancy condos. Be respectful and the swans will in time respect you, the male swan is protecting his family and will calm down after the babies are a few weeks old. I am sure there is someone living there that the swans will like and take to, maybe you should introduce the community one person at a time? or better yet let the swans decide for themselves whom they will take to. I have always let nature choose me, I would never force myself on any animal or human and expect the same treatment toward me. These people are being pushy toward the swan and the swan knows it and obviously doesn't like it. Just leave them alone. Stop being cruel and by the way relocating them is a form of animal cruelty. The humans just need to stay away from that area or give the swams a wide path. If you be christian and let them stay, they will teach you plenty about life and relationships. They don't divorce after he first fight or abandon their kids, or beat them up. I vote for the swans!
