Hi Theodora:
We could not agree more with you. We are against displacing any single swan and if the whole family needs to be removed, then the whole family should go intact. We are suggesting removal because in many cases as this, some no mind will either injure or kill the swan based upon someone getting too close to a nest or cygnet which instigates the aggressive behavior. As you have so eloquently stated, education is the major point. If you cannot educate people, humanely care for or protect an animal or bird in a captive setting, then it is much better not to have the animal or bird. If you can meet all of the above requirements, then leave the animal or bird alone and let it go about its normal routine. The Regal Swan
