Boy is very aggressive against young Isolde

July 28: Well, little Isolde was hanging out on the far side of the island down where Mama and Papa Swan often liked to rest, on the side nearest the Greig Garden. Boy came sailing all the way down there. I had given him his meds (glucosamine, against arthritis) earlier near Nature House, so was surprised to find him, later on, so far down. I gave him a STERN lecture accompanied by disapproving gestures - even launched a few small pebbles so they bounced around him. He headed out the opposite way and Isolde came in closer to the shore; she'll come right up, but is always wary and quickly moves away if she sees Boy anywhere around.

The most important thing now is to ensure Isolde doesn't get any infection from broken skin I hope this is just a passing phase because she's the youngest, and most vulnerable at this point. Boy was pretty good before, with only the odd case of serious chasing, usually when food was involved - it's only the past week or so he's been this mean to her. (Stephen says, "Hmph! Seems to me you should ease back on that medicine! Let him be a bit stiff again!")

Boy KNEW I was mad at him this morning (even though he's just doing what nature made him to do, I don't like it!!) and it was funny how, later on, he followed me half way around the lagoon, pedaling along like a shadow. I ignored him.
Snort, fluff. Kept walking, head turned away.
"Snort, snort." - "You NAUGHTY swan!" said I
Passed Nature House - he kept following, around the pier. Ignored him
He finally paused, when I crossed near that invisible boundary that divides his area from Precious' domain. There he floated, regal swan pose, just looking. (probably wondering why his human was behaving in such a bizarre way!)
