Glucosamine works wonders for Boy's arthritis

July 12: The Parks workers are putting the rest of those logs into the water. All the "fuss" this morning drew Boy right down to check out the excitement and see if he could get into anything! Oh yeah - he went down into Papa Swan's region by the flat rocks and bench near the Greig Garden side. Papa did his chase-thing, but Boy headed further out in the water, so Papa turned around and headed off to join Mama at the far end. I finally convinced Boy to swim back to our usual spot. Even in the rain, Boy looks wonderful and seems to know it - his wings are fluffed to maximum size and he's sailing proudly around the lagoon. Just hope Precious isn't too hard on him when he eventually returns to the main lagoon.

July 5: Boy is getting friskier by the day. When he's not out there chasing Tristan and Isolde, he's hanging out with them and Brother. He never seems very serious about catching anyone but really appears to enjoy the exercise. He gets his medicine in 3 little (about an inch square) cubes of bread, but I have tried 3 different "healthy" kinds - he has shown a definite preference for "artisan good haven" bread, so that's what I buy for myself (so it's always fresh for him).

July 3: Oh my, does Boy ever have Pedal-Power these days! Stephen muttered to me, "Hmph, think you'd better cut down on some of that arthritis medicine - he's getting awfully lively!" Both Tristan and Isolde were in the water and Boy just couldn't make up his mind which of the two to chase, so he alternated from one to the other, until something else of interest caught his eye and the "kids" could carry on enjoying their swim. I LOVE to see him in action! Everything else seemed pretty calm, always a good thing.
