Hi Luanda

Place 1/2 mixture of cracked corn and 1\2 poultry layer pellets in the water near the island or in a shallow pan near the island so that the cygnets do not climb into the pan and hurt their legs or feet. The swans must have water to eat so they do not choke. So, the pan needs to be very close to the water's edge of the island or you need to dump the food 2-3 times a day in the water near the island for the swans to eat.

You can also add a little bread as a treat and chopped lettuce to supplement their vegetative needs.

You do not want to place any food away from the island so that the young birds get on the outer banks of the pond where predators might get to them. The island is the best place for them, but eventually the parents will start taking the cygnets around the pond. Hopefully, the parents will bring them back to the island at night rather than on the banks. The Regal Swan
