Mother swan w/ hurt leg.

Hi, I hope I'm not asking something already answered in here, but I've briefly looked thru and don't see the exact question.

We have a pair of swans near a small school that two of my children go to...We've been watching them for a couple weeks and doing lots of research. They are close to a back road (but over the "railing" and on the edge of a huge lake). We've been very quiet, even with my young boys and they seem to not mind us around. They've even gotten up, looked at the eggs and gone into the water. We have a couple time fed them fresh bread. The last time though, we noticed the mommy had a hard time getting up and walking toward the water. One of her legs was crooked and bent up. She definitely was favoring NOT using it, but could make it to the water. Should we do anything or call anyone or simply let her be and hope and pray she heals on her own? Thanks so much for your help. We've really enjoyed watching and learning about them.... Okay w/ the exception of the one time a neighbor decided that giving them some bread was so bad, she was "going to call the environmental police" on us!! <:v

Hey, there's someone like that around all the time <:s Thanks so much again.
