Hi Shelly:

The swans will be fine for a week without going back onto the pond. You will need to water them down to help them keep their feathers water repellent. Also, DO NOT use high protein chick feed or any other high protein diet for the swans. They may develop leg or wing problems. Feed them a mixture of poultry layer pellets and cracked corn. This food source will provide them with adequate minerals, vitamins and other micro-nutrients and the cracked corn will act as a filler. The poultry layer pellets will also help them with their calcium levels and may make their eggs much stronger during the nesting season. The Regal Swan
