Thank you for your advice. My swans did not mate yet. This will be their first time. We already have a barn about the size you are suggesting where we put them at night. The swimming pool they are using during the day is about 20ftx40ft. However we also built a smaller pond for them about 5ftx10ft. My questions are:

1. Shall I have them locked in the barn until they mate? There is light inside and a wire screen on one wall so they can see the outside.

2. I keep putting hay stacks in the barn hoping they will make a nest but they do not.

3. Both the pond and swimming pool are about 50 feet from the barn. They are both ground level. If we have to change the water every day after the signets are born, giving them access to the 5x10 pond seems more practical, or is it too small? The 20x40 pool has 35,000 gallons, has koi in it. Although we have a filter and pump running 24x7 the water is still green.
