Hi Nelly

If he is able to move the wing and is generally mobile, this is better news. However, he still will never be able to fly to go from pond to pond or escape a predator and this is the major concern. There are usually 4 reasons that wildlife are euthanized in wildlife facilities:

1. It is the humane thing to do to eliminate undo suffering.

2. The wildlife is sick and the disease can rapidly spread to other wildlife and humans.

3. The state wildlife authorities mandate the killing because they think there is an overpopulation, a nuisance or non-native species. WE ARE TOTALLY AGAINST THESE LAME EXCUSES TO KILL ANYTHING. The point is to find an entity that will stand up against these types of mandates.

4. Once the animal is treated and can't be returned to the wild due to not
being able to fly or defend itself, it may be difficult to find a protective
suitable home or the wildlife facility is too crowded and cannot house the animal/bird.

So if you can find a vet to treat the goose, you may still need to find it a good protected home such as a farm, etc. The Regal Swan
