Hi Brad. We have seen offspring between the two species although man intervened as this is not normal behavior. The resulting offspring was called a Blute. Since this is not normal behavior it is likely that these cygnets would have some genetic issues and probably not survive for long.

With this being an older swan there are no guarantees she would remate. Also there are new laws in certain states against breeding these swans. You may need a permit and there would be many veterinary care issues associated with all of this. Pairing her with another female may result in serious injury or death to one or both swans. This introduction would involve building a pen or other structures to make this work. We would suggest to allow her to live her life alone which would be better for all concerned. If you decide to try a pairing you need another mute swan. Black swans are the most aggressive species which cause other problems.

Feed the swans a mixture of 1\2 cracked corn and 1\2 poultry layer pellets. Also provide her with lettuce. The Regal Swan
