Hi Charlotte:

There is a possibility that the odd male (not paired with the female) may bond with the new male. This scenario will closely depend on the age of the two males (the younger the better), and the individual species and swan. Since it is out of the nesting season, your chances are better now than if it were during nesting season. Keep plenty of food out so there is no competition. Good size lake, plenty of food, shelter and other resources will help in this situation.

If the situation does not work out and you need to place the swan in a good home, please contact Bob Knox at Knox Swans in Barrington, Illinois. He may be able to help with the placement of the bird.
