The people whom I've bought the single male swan have not capture him for me to pick up yet. They are not sure how they will do this as the first attempt, using a net while he was on the bank of the pond, was a failure and now he is afraid of them and won't come up to feed. They are considering using a friends kayak to get close enough to him to either catch him or herd him towards the bank.

Is there a smarter way to capture him? I will be moving him in my 2 horse trailer, other than good bedding, is there anything I should know or do?
