Behavior of male swan: From amorous to aggressor
In Response To: Re: general questions (The Regal Swan)
Hello yet again; I'm back with additional mating questions, please:
OK, so now I'm really confused! Carl and Bella were quite amorous two weekends ago, but since then, Carl won't allow her in the cove. As soon he sees her, he chases her away. Is this normal behavior after mating? Does the male swan share in any responsibility with the nest if eggs are laid? Am I to assume that Bella isn't nesting since I've seen her trying to gain entry into my cove?
Thank you!!
Pat
