I appreciate the information more than you know. I just want him to be happy. If he's happy enough alone, I will be fine with that. I have found a 4 yr old and a 6 yr old single female and thought with their age they would be able to hold their own until they get aquainted. I figured I could put one on each pond and allow them to decide whether they wanted to come together or to be territorial about their own pond.

If a single male will be content to remain alone, then I would be fine with that. As far as raising a few, there were so many people wanting this male besides me that I could sell them locally and yes, there is a local vet who does know how to pinion that deals with exotics. Those things I had considered already. We are very rural and there won't be many people out here to upset him and I may be very wrong but I have gentled some very hard to gentle animals. I have 3 Sebastopol geese that come running when I call them, wings outstretched and running. I don't hand feed them and have never given treats, I don't approve of that. If I set down on the grass (watching that I don't sit in a pile of you know what) they will surround me and lay on the grass for me to pet them and I can put my arm over them, even the gander. I love and respect them all and have Serama roosters that will stand in the palm of my hand and crow on cue.

I am very good at socializing any new animal that comes here to live and they all live in harmony from the birds to cat to dogs, mules, horses and llama's. Even our chocolate lab has learned to live with all sorts of poultry, geese and wild geese and even guards them but he's so smart he is still the best duck hunting retriever in the area and gets borrowed a lot during duck hunting season. The photo is Bruiser trotting past the Canadian geese family on our pond. I've watched him lay on the bank and the geese with their young waddle past him and he doesn't even open his eyes.

Thank you again! I will post about his ride home and his settling in here.
