Hi Phyllis:
Absolutely. Your area will have Mute, Trumpeter and Tundra Swans. You may have been seeing a juvenile recently kicked out of the habitat for the new nesting season and it may be testing out your area for a new habitat. Do you know the color of his beak?
If it is orange in color, it is a Mute Swan. If it has a black beak with no other coloring around its eye, it is a Trumpeter and if it has a black beak with yellow coloring near its eye, then it is a Tundra Swan. The Regal Swan
