I just had a most unpleasant experience involving the vancouver police. I did the tall fencing around the one nest WITH OFFICIAL APPROVAL.As no little ones were produced and mamma had abandoned the nest,it was time to remove the temporary fencing untill next nesting season. Some wonderful person decided to call the police instead of asking first. Despite telling the first officer I had official permmision to dismantle the fence, I was accused of trying to steal bits of worthless fencing. The result was five to ten minutes in handcuffs being bullied while trying to explain. I was then handed off to his partner who decided to ridicule my surname while the bully officer totally rifled through my day pack.As a result of ignorant people and now police officers, I leave fencing and nesting season to someone else.
