If you compare this picture to the October 9, 2006 posting “Morning Roll Call” you’ll see why we no longer refer to the LITTLE swans from Ambleside Park!

At ten months old, they are already bigger than some of the adult swans, a fact that’s not lost on those same adults who savor the delightful possibility of chasing the youngsters across the water. They barely get started when the “little” swan being pursued turns around with outstretched neck for a nice big PECK at the older bird who adroitly changes course and heads for calmer waters!

Here’s one of the lively quartet on his morning constitutional along Lost Lagoon’s southeast shore.
