Swans Through the Seasons

In Response To: Pictures of Papa and Mama Nesting (The Observer)

Saturday afternoon, May 6 - Mama turned her eggs while Papa stood guard. She takes an occasional break in the lagoon, but Papa will not sit directly on the eggs in her absence - she carefully covers them with feathers and fine grasses and then leaves while Papa stays at the entrance. He sat on the eggs last year, so I don't know why he doesn't now.
