Hi Chasity. This sounds like you have swans of the same gender, probably both males. They may now be fighting and the dominant one is chasing the other swan out of the pond. Does anyone know if the birds have been sexed? If these are the same gender, there may be a serious fight resulting in serious injury even possible death to one or both swans. If the second swan is not allowed to get in the water to feed, drink or bathe, it may become stressed and become ill. If it is a female, the bird may be sick, injured or have egg impaction. We would strongly suggest that you capture the swan sitting next to the fence and have it checked by a vet with experience in swans or waterfowl. Ask the vet to check for injury, ilness or egg impaction. The vet can also determine gender. If nothing is wrong with the bird, it should be turned back onto the pond and closely observed. If the swan continues to leave the water and refuses to go back into the pond we would suggest finding it a new home or returning it back to the seller. You might even ask the seller if he/she knows the gender. Please let us know how this situation works out. The Regal Swan
