Hi, On my property is a nesting swan. She actually floated to my land during a rain and wind storm the day before easter in April... and has stayed on the property with the eggs she floated on my land with. Over the last few weeks -- the number of eggs went that I could see went from 4 to 1... there is only one egg in the nest left that I can see. She has been on the nest -- for over a month now and nothing has hatched.. how long will she stay on the nest.. she is a swan that I regulally feed all summer and winter long... she has had many clutches in the past around the area so she is tenured in cygnet raising. My concern is that she will not leave the nest even if the egg is not going to hatch...? She has gone off the nest a few times to eat and hid her egg a few times.. over the last few weeks... do you think the egg is alive?
