In Response To: Two cygnets on our swimming pool (Andy)

Hi, we found 2 cygnets on our swimming pool this afternoon. No sign of the parents. They came from a pond about 100 yards away. We returned them to the pond but still no sign of the parents. They seem healthy enough, happily eating vegetation in the pond.

I'm guessing they are about 4 weeks old. I saw 2 adult swans with 3 cygnets on the pond a couple of weeks ago.

Would the parents leave them during the day for any reason?

At this age, could they survive on their own?
