Great news! We are glad to know he is doing well under your fine care.

Yes, the cygnets peep around their parents to let them know that they are okay and their location. The feathers should begin growing in about 2-3 months. You will start to see what looks like rows of feather quills on the wings and body. By 6 months of age, he will look almost like an adult swan, but the feathers may still be light colored. By 8 months, he should be fully black in color and the feathers fully formed. Beaks may start to turn color at this time, but it may take a full 12 months for some swans to get the full adult coloration of the beak. The Regal Swan
