Ask the Swan Specialist

In Response To: Re: Lone swan in a farmer (The Regal Swan)

Hi Denise:

If the swan can fly, there is limited care that can be rendered. The swan is probably resting during migration and is eating the grasses or grains to regain its strength before continuing it flight. However, if the swan does not eat or move, you may need to contact someone who might be able to affect a rescue.

We're not sure where you are located in the U.K., but if you are near Eton, we would suggest that you contact Wendy Hermon, Swan Lifeline. Wendy, Kay and the rest of the staff at Swan Lifeline will do everything they can to save the bird if it is in distress. The Regal Swan
