Ask the Swan Specialist

In Response To: 3 swans in our pond (Stephanie)

I live on a 15 acre pond. Last year we had 2 mute swans, then it became 3. I am assuming the pair had one baby that survived. Now the 2 swans have left and the 3rd swan is left alone. When ever we are outside, the swan comes over to us. We have been feeding it cracked corn and pellets that we have for the ducks. Is it possible to get the swan a mate? How would I tell if it is a male or a female. Not sure if the swan is lonely but it is always by us when we are outside.
