Trumpeter swan bonded with pair of Canadian Geese?

We live next to a land conservancy with a huge pond in Northeast Ohio and always enjoy watching the wildlife there. Over the past week we have been delighted with daily sightings of a lone Trumpeter Swan who is clearly bonded with two Canada Geese. They are seen everywhere together and will just fly around the three of them as if family. Sometimes in a nearby horse field, sometimes just tooling around in the pond, sometimes all three of them sleeping within inches of each other. Is this a normal behavior? Just curious because can't find any information online regarding any cross-species bonding. Most show instead how they compete for territory.

Thank you!
