Ask the Swan Specialist

In Response To: pen being abused re: (Rob)

Thanks for the reply. Definitely a pen, she has laid unfertilized eggs in the spring. Also, it is the paired cob who is doing the chasing. I have found a new good home for my pen. My swans winter very well here in the cold, I have an ice eater on 24/7 that gives them a 75 ft radius of open water. My pen that is leaving follows me around the gardens with my dog for company. I am dreading having to part with her. I never thought I would get so attached to Ethel. The pair are named Ricky and Lucy. Thanks again.
