For months I've been watching two swans in the pond where I work. Weeks ago female started to sit in the nest. She was there everyday, everytime I passed the pond. Clearly, she was sitting on her eggs. After 6-7 weeks when it was time for the eggs to hatch she went missing. Not on the nest anymore, that was about 2 weeks ago. The male was missing for 3-4 days but now he is back there everyday. No sign of another swan. Is this normal? I was looking forward to see the full family but now I only worry for the female.
