In Response To: Swan behavior around jet skis (Julie Hudson)

I live on a small lake in Michigan. We like to keep it quiet but we have a few people that run the jet skis. We have a swan family and every time the jet skiers drive their noisy machines the male takes off in flight after them. One day the jet skier's machine stalled and the male kept circling in the water around him. It was quite amusing at the time - Man vs. swan but eventually a pontoon boat came and rescued the frightened jet skier. My question is...does the swan see the jet ski as a giant swan and trying to protect his family or is it the noise and nuisance of the jet ski?
