In Response To: Swans in brackish water (Gerry)

I've lived on a lagoon of brackish water by Barnegat Bay in Loveladies, N.J.

for 48 years and never saw a swan among the many shore birds in this area.

Today, for the first time, a pair of swans swan under and around our dock for about 20 minutes.

I thought swans only lived in fresh water. Where could these have come from?
