Hi Ann:

All swans (basically all birds), regardless of species have very well-developed hearing to alert them to predators, wildlife and other swans in the area. Birds do not have a well developed sense of smell, so sight and hearing are the major senses that allow them to recognize other birds/animals in their habitat. The Regal Swan
