Hi Earlene:
Yes, Gus will be able to adjust by himself and you obviously will not have to deal with cygnets. However, Gus will still (due to nature) will act defensively during nesting and mating season because he is wired that way. So, giving away Ellie, will not completely stop this behavior during mating/nesting season. The Regal Swan
