Hi Marco:
We're not sure how nutritious this mixture might be for a swan. Yes, swans need vegetation, especially grasses and other aquatic vegetation to round out their diet. But, just giving them oats, maize and wheat may not satisfy their true nutritional needs. This is why we recommend cracked corn (acts as a filler and also provides the much needed Vitamin A). Neurological problems can result if there is little or no Vitamin A in the diet.
The cracked corn should be mixed in a 50% ratio with poultry layer pellets. The pellets provide vitamins, minerals and micronutrients such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, etc.
Lettuce can be added to the diet to round out the swan's dietary needs. Lettuce is a great supplement during winter months when aquatic vegetation and other grasses are not as prevalent.
Cracked corn, poultry layer pellets and lettuce can provide the swan's with a good supplemental diet as they also forage in the lake or pond for other food resources. The Regal Swan
