We are pleased to announce swan products that we have been developing to help facilitate humane veterinary medical care for swans worldwide. Angi Perretti, Vice President of Product Development for the Regal Swan has developed, designed and constructed an indoor swan pen and veterinary medical slings for swans.

The swan pen is extremely crucial at this time of the year as we have been receiving many inquiries at this post as well as our emails regarding how to contain swans during the snowstorms that most everyone is receiving. Swans are being stranded on ponds and lakes and people are intervening with rescues to save the birds from starvation and predators. Swans may also need to be housed for temporary veterinary medical care.

The indoor pen allows swan owners and veterinarians to house swans indoors in such facilities as garages, barns, veterinary clinics, etc. The pen IS NOT for outdoor usage as it cannot sustain windgusts or protect the swans from predators due to the lack of a roof. Garages are perfect areas to now keep swans temporarily with the new pen as long as the swans are not subjected to chemicals, gasoline or other products that can emit harmful vapors/odors.

The veterinary medical slings provide a comforting support for the swans after their capture to transport them safely and securely while preventing injuries to the swans or their handlers. The webbing of the sling can be placed around the handler's neck while the swan is supported under the breast and the tail by the handler's arms which provide a 3 point support system. In addition, the slings have pockets that can hold blood samples, medical charts and other related veterinary medical materials relevant to the individual swan as it progresses through the veterinary medical exam process or as it is transported to the veterinary clinic.
