Ask the Swan Specialist

In Response To: Swan Divorce (Vicki)

We have a pair of swans that have had several successful nests. This year none of the eggs hatched successfully. Yesterday, the swans separated and she will not have anything to do with the male. Is is true that swans sometimes divorce after an unsuccessful nesting season? If so, it is practical or possible to introduce a new male and new female that they would mate with? Or are they just doomed to loneliness?
