I am interested in finding out if we can promote wild swans to take up residence on our small (5-8 acre) pond. The homes on the pond including myself pay for a pair of swans with clipped wings that the service drops off and picks up each year. I have been trying to get the neighbors intersted in seeing if wild swans will use our pond, but they are somewhat reisitant as the clipped ones drive off a lot of geese in the spring. We have had a few wild ones fly in, but the clipped ones just chase them off. I suppose its because the wilds can leave and don't have to defend thier home since they could fly and take up somewhere else.
