We have a pair of wild swan on our lake. They have 5 large cygnets. 4 are white with beaks changing to yellow with the black out line like the parents. However, one is still very dark and has a dark beak. These cygnets are all at least as large as the adult female. One of the white ones is larger than the adult male. Is there something special about the darker colored cygnet?
