The cygnets and parents may have gone to another pond or an area farther away from your section of the habitat. Parents will move the cygnets around to teach them about their habitat and to learn their location in relation to other areas of the habitat. Swans will also walk into areas away from the habitat, so you might check in the immediate area to see if they might have walked to another pond or someone else's house and can't find their way back.
