Lynne, I just followed your other post. I wonder if my own swan was chased or left our lake... I never thought about that option until he responded to your post. Ugh. I never even thought to look elsewhere and that makes me sad to think what may have happened. I just assumed a predator and still maybe that happened.
My shed offers protection from the bitter wind, but not insulated along walls. Yet it is still a barrier. I put a dog playpen in that circles, but open at top. It is only a 6 by 6 )something like that...but it is all I had. I lined it with straw and tomorrow I am getting a small tub for her to sit in. I am just learning how to winter a swan. The other winters were not this bad before.
