The spots could be scrapes, bruises, or infections (bacterial or fungal). Even if this condition is a scrape, infections can occur and spread so we would recommend that you have a veterinarian look at the swan. Ointments should be used sparingly as the oil in the ointments can hamper the swan's water repellency by having the oil cover its feathers. The Regal Swan
