Do swans wet their food before eating it?

I read an article on Facebook, claiming that a swan has some fish friends, and that the swan feeds them. It's the swan really feeding the fish, or it's the swan just trying to wet its food to make it less rough down its thoat and the fish are just a bunch of thieves?... Thank you very much
