In Response To: Why did the Mute Swans kill their baby? (Sue)

Two mute Swans had 6 babies and they seemed like a happy family. Suddenly one day the 2 adults started honking madly at each other and it looked like they were having a spat. The male swan swam off a little ways and when he turned around he was all puffed up and looked twice his size. The babies were all huddled around the mother. The puffed up male swam quickly to the female and then to my horror, the two adults grabbed a baby and pushed it underwater. They held it there until it drowned. WHY would they do such a thing?
