Hi Jeff:

Without seeing the tumor, we're not sure exactly what might be occurring. Even then, the only way to know if the tumor is benign or malignant is to get the swan to an avian veterinarian and have a biopsy.

There are two possible solutions to this dilemma in finding a qualified avian veterinarian to see if there needs to be something done. You can contact Linda Harrison at Exotic DVM in Ft. Lauderdale, and she may be able to provide you with contact information for a local avian veterinarian that may be able to help in your area.

Secondly, you can contact Bob Knox at Knox Swans in Illinois. He is a swan breeder and caretaker and will have access to a qualified veterinarian in the area that might be able to offer some insight. We hope that this is of benefit to you. Please let us know how this situation progresses. The Regal Swan
