The next morning after I wrote here, the animal ambulance to the swan away to a bigger lake and to be united with other swans. It is more than a kilometer away from our house and we followed where it was taken so we can visit it (my daughter was so sad and crying coz the swan was taken). it is a much bigger lake and it is safer there but we noticed that the other swans seem not to accept him or her. the other swans would come to us but if it (say our) swan would try to come to us, the other swan would scare it away so it could not come close to us. Same thing happend the next day. And to our surprise today, the swan is back to our lake! Do they have that strong memory to find back where we are? Our neighbor said it was staying infront of our door and knocking. My daughter was so happy when she got home and the swan immeddiately came to her. Of course she fed it with bread again! Ok, starting tomorrow, I will go to the pet shop to get the cracked corn and poultry pellets and feed as you have adviced. I hope it works! I´ll definitely keep you updated. The color of the beak is still a light color, like flesh or light beige. Can you also let me know how to tell if it´s a male or a female swan?

The only thing I´m afraid of now is that the animal ambulance might come back anytime soon ans take the swan to a farther lake. We´ll surely be very sad :( . Problem is, our lake is too small (man made lagoon) and surrounded by houses. And when the lake freezes, there no place for it to go except in the streets, or at our front garden. So on the other hand, it´s really better it´s taken away at a better location. Still, we´ll be sad though. By the way, we are in the Netherlands. Looking forward again for your reply.
