In Response To: How much of a run do swans need to take flight? (Dianne)

A swan has landed on a small pond where I work. People are saying that it has to be rescued as the pond isn't large enough for the swan to get it's running start to take flight. Can you tell me if this is correct and if it is how much space do they need.
